    More About Sisterhood

A few facts about Congregation Agudath Israel Sisterhood

Our Sisterhood fully supported and made a most generous donation towards our renovation in 2007. Through the efforts of committed Sisterhood women, our Gift Shop is staffed and consistently filled with beautiful Judaica to serve our community. Each Bar and Bat Mitzvah is presented a beautiful prayer book by Sisterhood. Siddurs are presented on behalf of Sisterhood at the 'Moving Up' ceremony of our Religious School and kiddush cups to welcome new babies to our congregation.  We're proud to sponsor both the 'Break Fast' at the conclusion of Yom Kippur and the annual Sukkot Luncheon. The beautiful flowers adorning the Bimah on the High Holidays are a gift of Sisterhood. Lifecycle events, both happy simchas and and sad condolences are sent from Sisterhood to our congregants. The synagogue kitchens are graciously equipped by Sisterhood. Our efforts in fund-raising provided funds towards the newly renovated state of the art playground of The Early Childhood Center. Each year, Sisterhood is proud to contribute to the High Holiday Campaign. We are happy to support the efforts of our Early Childhood Center, Education Department, Youth Groups, providing a scholarship towards USY Encampment, implementing a scholarship for Teen Travel to Israel, in memory of our beloved long-time member, Ina Wolfe,  and a multitude of Seniors Programs.

Throughout the year we sell Jewish calendars, Torah Fund cards and pins through our affiliate, Women's League for Conservative Judaism. Additionally, Sisterhood is proud to support The Jewish Theological Seminary, and to donate to the  Congregation Agudath Israel annual Israel Walk-A-Thon. We are committed to being 'Gloriously Green'. Take a look at some products we offer for purchase in support of this effort.
