CAI Shabbat Services on Zoom

TO JOIN THE MEETING

Getting In: When you first click in, you'll be put in Hold, and that might last for 30-60 seconds, or more. This is an intentional security feature; we don't want our davening to be disrupted. Thanks for your patience!

Getting In Before Shabbat: Rabbi Silverstein, Rabbi Lucas, Cantor Caplan and others plan to click into this meeting shortly before 6 pm on Friday night. Then they will leave their computers on throughout Shabbat, and not touch those computers.

If you'd like to do this, please Click Here for more details.

THE SIDDUR

You may use ANY Siddur/Prayer Book, but Rabbi Silverstein will be announcing page numbers from the Sim Shalom Siddur (the "full" Harlow edition). You may download the Rabbi's edition at this link:
https://www.rabbinicalassembly.org/form-download-e-siddur-0

a) You’ll see a form to fill out — thanks for doing that, in respect for their intellectual property.
b) They have more than one Siddur listed; we’re using Sim Shalom.
c) They have different sections of Sim Shalom listed; download what you need.

PRAYER WITH CANTOR CAPLAN AND TORAH THOUGHT WITH RABBI SILVERSTEIN

"Is this a minyan?"  No, not a halachic minyan. Rabbi Silverstein has ruled that we may say Mourner's Kaddish during this most unusual time, but we won't be saying Bar'chu, or repeating the Amida, or saying other forms of Kaddish. Each of us will be davening l'vad — that is, each of us davening by ourselves.

You'll hear almost all the regular passages that you would hear the Shaliach Tsibur (Service Leader) typically sing.  And there's time to shmooze with others, both before and after davening (just as we'd do in shul!).

Use your own Siddur, or see the section (above) to download the Siddur Sim Shalom.
