virtual family walk for israel

Announcing the 2020 CAI

Sunday, November 1, 10 am - noon

Dear Friends:

There will be a Walk for Israel this year, but it will be like no other!

The Israel Committee is creating an event that will adhere to all Covid-19 precautions yet provide an opportunity for maximum personal and virtual participation.

A highlight of this year’s Walkathon, besides giving us all a chance to work for a common cause, will be to raise enough funds so that our total contributions to various Israeli organizations over the past 20 years will exceed $1 million!

Walkathon funds support pluralism programs for all areas of Israeli society.

They aid:

  • • National NOAM
    • Nursery schools offering Jewish content
    • Special needs Bar/Bat mitzvah
    • Meals for needy Jewish children
    • Lone soldiers, and much more

Here are some of the details:

  • • Instead of shirts, masks with the Walkathon logo will be provided to all participants. If you’ve got an old Walkathon shirt, wear it.
    • Everyone will walk at their own pace in their own preferred location.
    • If you can’t “walk” on Nov. 1, walk when and where you can.
    • Optional: take a selfie of your activity and send it to a CAI site to be determined. Selected selfies will be combined in a video finale to be Zoomed at the end of the “walk.”

Since donations of $180 or more will not be advertised on a Walkathon shirt this year, those donor's names will be displayed on Banner of Honor. In addition, in view of the economic impact of Covid-19, we have created new categories to add a little fun to your giving.

Please choose your tax-deductible donation from one of these categories:

Stroller: $18

Walker: $36

Trotter: $54

Jogger: $180

5K Runner: $360

Half Marathoner: $500

Marathoner: $1000
