Create for a Cause

CAI Create for a Cause works together to create handmade items such as hats, blankets, and scarves to donate to organizations in our area and beyond that serve people in need. We began in 2018, and since then have donated to over 35 organizations including Strengthen Our Sisters, Valley Settlement House, Toni’s Kitchen, Montclair Human Needs Food Pantry, Jewish Family Services, Caldwell Food Pantry, Oasis, and many more. We’ve made hats for Israeli soldiers and sent various items made in yellow and blue to support refugees from Ukraine. We even made masks and delivered them to hundreds of CAI members during the start of COVID.

Create for a Cause is open to all skill levels—including beginners who would like to learn different ways they can contribute. Our group includes members who…

An exciting addition is our new Create for a Cause Teen Group led by Ivie Drogin. They are making handmade items to donate along with the larger group donations, as well as selecting projects on their own, such as making dog toys and bandannas for a local pet rescue.
