THE HEVRA KADISHA AND CEMETERY ASSOCIATION
CAI's Hevra Kadisha ("Holy Society") is a volunteer support service for our congregational families. Headed by Anita Finkel, the Hevra Kadisha can support you during the immediate period following the death of a loved one. This may include helping mourners make funeral arrangements, setting up shiva, performing ritual cleansing and dressing of the body (Tahara) according to Jewish tradition, or accompanying mourners to services during the period of Shloshim, the first 30 days.
The CAI Cemetery Association serves CAI members. The association has space set aside in nearby cemeteries for purchase. We encourage you to plan ahead and purchase plots before they are needed. And we can help if it becomes necessary to act quickly to find a permanent resting place for your loved ones at the most difficult and stressful time. Family plots are available. You can pay by check or with credit card, and we are happy to work out extended payment plans. If you decide you no longer want the cemetery plots you purchased from the association, we will buy them back for the price you paid.
Trustees of the CAI Cemetery Association:
President Arthur Franklin
