Yom HaShoah Commemoration in Loving Memory of Fela Rosmarin Urman and All Who Perished and Survived The Shoa, and Honoring Marjorie Feinstein as a CAI Mitzvah Hero

Followed by Rebecca Gelman presenting:

"Nicholas Winton: The Power of Good" — The inspiring story of the 'British Schindler'

Wednesday, May 1

7 pm: Special guest speaker, Dr. Helen Streubert, President of the College of St. Elizabeth, honoring Marjorie Feinstein for her work promoting Holocaust Education.

7:30 pm: Minchah/maariv with special prayers and candle lighting for the 6 million.

7:45 pm: Congregant Rebecca Gelman will tell the story of her father, Charles Gelman, and his involvement in Nicholas Winton: The Power of Good, with guest speakers Tammee Percha Fensch, Peter Rafael, and Lawrence Reed.

8:15 pm: Screening of film about Winton, British humanitarian who organized the rescue of 669 children, most of them Jewish, from Czechoslovakia.

"My father, Charles Gelman, was a great believer in so many philanthropic endeavors, and dedicated himself to helping others and volunteering with a mission. This last year has been a journey of collecting tributes to his and mom's good works and his impact upon others, and the urgency of his purpose to help others, to give back for the support he received."
