8:30 AM - 2:00 PMSanctuary/LivestreamRebecca Wolfe is an alum of CAI, where her family were active members in the 70s and 80s. After leaving the Caldwells, she studied Political Psychology at Bates College, earned a PhD in Social Psychology from Harvard, and completed her postdoctoral studies at Princeton. Hearing her father's voice in her head to do things that mattered in the "real world," she left academia for 15 years and worked for Mercy Corps, a humanitarian organization. Her time at Mercy Corps took her across the globe, including: training leaders to negotiate in Afghanistan; designing the US government's largest youth development program in Kenya; opening the agency's office in Yemen; and running large studies on peace building in Northern Nigeria. She now teaches at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, where she trains the next generation of humanitarian and development professionals.
Rebecca will speak with us about how her experiences growing up at CAI inspired her to pursue a life of global humanitarian work during Shabbat morning services and a post-Kiddush discussion.
