Thursday, January 24, 2019 18 Shevat 5779

7:45 PM - 9:00 PMFrank Nathanson Adult Lounge

This interdenominational event will bring together the faith community to reflect on our shared connection to the earth and collective role as environment caretakers. Held in observance of the Jewish holiday of Tu B'shevat, the New Year of the Trees, we will host a presentation by Greg Mattison detailing the scientific understanding of climate change and how it relates to extreme weather and broader social concerns. The role of the faith community in addressing these issues will be discussed.

Greg Mattison is a member of the St. Aloysius Parish Green Team in Caldwell and a long-time member of The Climate Reality Project, a grass-roots organization with the mission of communicating the concerns and realities of global warming. He is a founding member of the William Paterson University Green Team, now entering its twelfth year, and an adjunct professor of Global Energy and Sustainability at WPU.

This program is co-sponsored by Congregation Agudath Israel’s Interfaith Committee and Education Department, and St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. Refreshments will be served!
