Fast of the Firstborn Breakfast

Friday, April 19, 2019 14 Nisan 5779

6:45 AM - 8:30 AMLibrary/Frank Nathanson Adult Lounge

Sponsored by Rabbi David Saltzman and Judi Fabricant

6:45 am: Minyan; 7:30 am Breakfast

Traditionally, firstborn Jewish children fast during the day of the first seder, in thanks for having been spared during the 10th plague in Egypt, the Killing of the Firstborn. But there's a Jewish way around that fasting: attending a "siyum," a celebration held when a scholar finishes studying a tractate of Talmud. So - Rabbi Ari Lucas will finish studying a tractate on April 19, and all those present - including firstborns - are invited for breakfast, sponsored by Rabbi David Saltzman and Judi Fabricant. Parents, most kids are off from school that day - come for a good meal and do a mitzvah! If 6:45 is too early, come at 7:15!

Please include the names of all attendees in the notes section.
