Shabbaton with Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg

Friday, May 27, 2016 19 Iyyar 5776

7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

On May 27, 28, and 29, join us to find out... What does a rabbi, a dog, the Shoah, a Ner Tamid and walking from Frankfurt to London have to do with each other?

Who would append his dog's blog to his own, as he writes "Walking With the Light: From Frankfurt to Finchley" and produces a documentary movie co-starring his pet Mitzpah, about his meetings with religious leaders, delving into theological issues of Judaism, Christianity and Islam on his way to develop lasting connections between his family's tragic past in Germany and the revitalization of Jewish life in the UK?

Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg is the answer to all of the above and more. He will offer a Dvar Torah and will be joining us for the early Kabalat Shabbat service at 6:00 pm, followed by a 7:00 pm Shabbat dinner hosted by CAI's World Jewry Committee. During Shabbat Services on May 28, Rabbi Wittenberg will offer the guest sermon and delve into issues of contemporary spiritual concern at a Question and Answer "Lunch and Learn" following Kiddush. On Sunday, he will be the guest speaker for a special area-wide Federation of Jewish Men's Club gathering hosted by our own Men's Club.

Preregistration for this event has ended.
